freshly picked: A REVIEW! A GIVEAWAY!

[Giveaway Closed: Winner: Carrie Harms]

I'm super excited to announce that I have a giveaway for the next four Mondays [at least!]. Because what could be better on a Monday? AND I thought it would be a fun way to introduce you to [some] local shops and/or shops I have enjoyed! AND just in time for your Christmas shopping! [Most giveaways will be accompanied with a percent off from the buyer if you don't win the giveaway! So everyone wins!]

Have you heard of Freshly Picked? If you are a mom and/or read blogs or do much on social media, chances are you have. And if you have heard of them, chances are at one point you thought, "Dang, their stuff is cute."

Last month I received a pair of the Merci style moccasins in the mail for Blythe. The packaging they came in was fun, and Blythe loved the emoticon stickers that were in the bag!

Here is how their site describes their moccs:

100% Genuine Leather Moccasins

Freshly Picked moccasins feature a unique design with elastic at the opening. Our shoes are easy to put on, easy to take off, and most importantly: stay on your child’s foot. Our soft-soled shoes are made with durable leather and are suitable for infants and toddlers alike. Moccasins fit true to size and are available in children sizes 1 - 10.

I will agree they fit her feet very well, and definitely don't come off, which is a bonus when you're dealing with toddlers! However, I would check out their sizing chart before you select a size, because I disagree that they run true to size [Blythe is in a size 6, and these are a size 4].

They really are adorable and Blythe immediately LOVED them, which is not always the case with shoes I try to put on her feet these days. She kept looking at them as she walked and I asked her what she liked about them and she said, "They are so sparkle-ly!" I agree. They are. I would probably totally wear a pair!

As you can see in the above and below picture, they are true moccassins: they don't have any soles. I was worried that this would bother Blythe/ that they wouldn't really protect her feet, and she doesn't seem to notice. She has worn them in our yard, at the park, and to church, and she's never complained [and she would!]. I took these pictures the second time she wore them though, and I will say the bottoms do show wear and tear a bit [the design is wearing off of bottoms and around toes], but what toddler shoe doesn't, really?

One morning she wore them outside and the grass was still a little wet. She did want to take them off that time because her feet got wet, and I was worried we had ruined them. But the wet didn't bother them a bit! Which I think shows some signs of their quality. And that fringe? It kills me.

I think these would be ideal for crawlers, who normally kick off any shoe you try to put on them, or early toddlers/those learning to walk, because they stay on and I think it is easier for their little feet to figure out surfaces when they can grip a little more [like bare feet]. If I were to order some, I would definitely order some for Becks. And I would probably order these [I actually tried to get them for Blythe but they only make them in smaller sizes].

The vote from Blythe is two thumbs up:

Freshly Picked obviously makes adorable moccasins for girls, but they also have a good selection for boys too. Our buddy, Gibson, has these:

And I even got to photograph him wearing them. How cute!
