an explanation of sorts

I haven't blogged in a month. So what, right? Let's just ignore that fact. I've missed it.

But my mind has been overwhelmed by two things lately. One is softball. I'm still coaching. As in, I'm still coaching for my fourth year now and enjoying it. And also as in, I'm still coaching on October 22nd when most teams have been done for nearly two weeks because WE ARE FREAKIN' GOING TO STATE!! For the first time in school history my team won districts. Then they won sectionals. Then they were like, "Hey, why not? Let's win quarterfinals and go to state?" So they did. And we leave Thursday for STATE! I will write more about this later. It really is too exciting for words at the moment. I'm so proud of them.

So that is thing number one that's been on my mind that has kept me from having anything else to blog about.

Thing number two?

Well just look at these pictures:

Meagan took these pictures for us back in September and I anxiously awaited today's appointment until I shared them. And today Brent joined me and we heard that magic sound of lub-dubing coming from our second child. I am 12 weeks now. We will find out the sex in early December.

We are so very thankful and happy to welcome our newest family member next May [or at the end of April if this baby comes in a rush like Blythe!]

Hopefully those two reasons are enough to explain my lack of appearances around here lately… and enough to make you forgive me.

So thankful. God is good beyond what we can think or imagine. Love Mom of the Irwin variety.

I can't share silly emojis via my computer, so those "old school" smileys will have to do. :)
